In both our examples these folks live with someone else and that’s how their budgets stretch to cover housing, savings/retirement, and some fun money. This self-employed herbalist also has healthcare through a partner, and this allows them to invest in wellness practices they need.  The community organizer has a home, a car loan and expenses, and makes savings for the house because iykyk.

As always, these are amalgamations of real budgets I’ve seen people put together, to make their money situation work as best they can for their lives. It’s never a specific, one persons’ budget.
