Aberdeen City Council`s Growth and Resources Committee today agreed to secure a new contract that next year includes the final leg of the Tour of Britain cycling event in the city. In recent years, more than 400 young people have participated in activity agreements, each based on the interests of young people. Young people have done a number of activities that help increase their confidence, motivation and employability. Within Aberdeen, we also manage the Activity Agreements program, which links young people (16-19 years old) to activities of interest to them and expands their interactions with local services. For more details on the activity agreements, please www.aberdeenguarantees.com/training/activity-agreements Committee members have asked the Council`s Head of Contracting to amend the contract, subject to a similar agreement by Aberdeenshire Council and funding from EventScotland`s SweetSpot, so that the events can take place in 2021 and 2022. Aberdeen City Council is one of scotland`s 32 local administrative areas and the 37. The most populous settlement area in the UK with an official population estimate of more than 228,000. About 17,000 people in Aberdeen City are 16-25 years old We also have Aberdeen Guarantees as a way to engage with local businesses that has expanded placement opportunities for young people in the city. Dear Aberdeen City Councillor, I am asking for a copy of the contracts between Aberdeen City and First Group plc and Stagecoach Group. In particular, I ask for contracts defining the services and service limitations of each urban transport provider (First Group plc and Stagecoach Group). “When securing the 2020 event for the region, we were informed by data on the economic benefits of the Tour series, which we have staged so successfully in the city in recent years, and on the figures on the potential positive effects on the Tour of Britain at the regional level for the economy, tourism, as well as for health and well-being. I am requesting a copy of the contracts between Aberdeen City and First Group plc and Stagecoach Group.
In particular, I ask for contracts defining the services and service limitations of each urban transport provider (First Group plc and Stagecoach Group). Please see PDF ADM17 – Kincorth Academy – Cove/Altens for First Group plc. Please note that the names of third parties who do not expect disclosure have been edited (obscured). I was sent contracts for a single service route in a scoring area for both service providers. Maybe you can now send me what I asked for…. service contracts between Aberdeen City Council and FirstGroup plc and Stage Coach Group for municipal service.
In 2014, we introduced Aberdeen Guarantees as a partnership approach to promoting local training and employment opportunities and initiatives for 14-25 year olds. Aberdeen Guarantees promotes local opportunities through online communication via our website (www.aberdeenguarantees.com) On social media (www.facebook.com/aberdeenguarantees, www.twitter.com/abguarantees) and through a weekly newsletter addressed to educational staff, socio-educational animation staff and partner organisations across the city. The activities available are designed to help a young person move to the next stage of their post-school teaching goal. The emphasis is on developing the skills needed to obtain employment or training, provided by various partners in the city. Each activity agreement is based on the young person and his needs. I have applied for service contracts between Aberdeen City Council and FirstGroup plc and Stage Coach Group.
